FAQs

- At least three weeks before your waxing appointment:
  - Stop shaving or trimming
    Honestly, the longer the better… To reiterate: bushes are more than welcomed here!
  - Start exfoliating gently every other day
    This will sluff off dead skin cells collecting at the surface of your skin allowing trapped hairs to break free & be easily waxed away.
  - Moisturize your skin & hair daily with an unscented lotion or better yet, stop by Dare to Bare Wax Den & grab some Bushbalm to use prior to your wax.
    Don’t neglect your skin down under. The more hydrated your skin is before your appointment the less irritated it may be.
    Your hair down there will reap the benefits of the moisturizer which will, in turn, make it more elastic & less likely to break during the wax. Broken hairs will result in uneven or bumpy wax results.
- For your waxing appointment wearing cotton panties & loose-fitting pants or a dress is suggested. We suggest that your undies for the following week after your wax are cotton as well which will allow your skin to breathe.
- Avoid for 24-48 hours:
  - Swimming pools, hot tubs or baths.
  - Working out
  - Saunas
  - Sun exposure or tanning beds
  - Sexual activity
  - Tight-fitting clothes
- Exfoliate the waxed area 24-48 hours after your waxing appointment about 2-3 times per week.
- Moisturize the area daily.
- Do not shave or trim in between your waxing appointments.
Eyebrow lamination is best for clients wanting fuller, fluffier, more defined brows or those with unruly, uneven, thinning, or downward-growing brow hairs.
A lash lift is perfect for clients wanting natural, low-maintenance enhancement to their lashes. Idea for straight, downward-growing, or hard to curl lashes, this treatment creates a lifted, longer looking appearance without lash extensions.

I’m Desiree Catanach, a licensed esthetician and the owner of Dare to Bare Wax Den. What began as a passion for beauty and body care has grown into one of Santa Fe’s most trusted, high end waxing studios known for fast, comfortable Brazilian waxes, warm hospitality, and a clean, elevated salon experience.

Over the years, I’ve transformed a business from a single room waxing setup into a full professional studio that focuses on efficiency, expertise, and your comfort. I’ve invested in advance education, refined my waxing techniques, elevated my studio aesthetics, and created a space that feels calm, welcoming, and judgement-free. Every detail from the curated decor to the streamline service flow is designed with your experience in mind.

My signature service, the 10-minute Brazilian, is something I take great pride in. It’s fast, detailed, and consistent, allowing clients to feel at ease while knowing they’re in skilled hands. I believe waxing should never feel rushed or intimidating just smooth, comfortable, and done by someone who genuinely cares about your confidence and time.

I’ve had the honor of serving thousands of clients throughout Santa Fe since opening my waxing studio in 2014. Many whom have followed me over the years and trusted me with their skin, comfort, and their routine. Their loyalty inspires me to show up every day with integrity, kindness, professionalism, and the drive to continue leveling up.

By booking an appointment at Dare to Bare Wax Den, you agree to the following policies:

CANCELLATION POLICY

Any appointments canceled the same day, (within 24-hours) will be charged 50% of the appointment canceled. If your card on file doesn’t go through, you will be sent an invoice to the email we have on file. Future appointments will not be allowed to book until the cancellation fee is paid.

NO-CALL, NO-SHOW

Any appointments that are no-call, no-shows will be charged 100% of their appointment price. If your card on file doesn’t go through, you will be sent an invoice to the email we have on file. Future appointments will not be allowed to book until the no-call, no-show fee is paid.

LATE CLIENT POLICY

We have a very strict 5-minute late policy. When you book an appointment, you agree to be charged 50% off your full service if you arrive 6 minutes or more after your scheduled appointment. If you know that you’re going to be late, please give us as much heads-up as possible so that we can try to accommodate you. We try our best to still accommodate late clients however that is not always possible.
